Tour the Castle Grounds and Explore the Museum
The historic home of William Gillette features many incredible things to do. The Visitor's Center is perched atop a bluff that overlooks the river. Inside, see the fully restored train engine that Gillette would use to bring guests around the estate.
Hike the trails where the railway used to run, exploring along the pond and down towards the river. Depending on the tide, you may even catch a glimpse of the wreck of the Aunt Polly, Gillette's houseboat.
After an afternoon at the park discover the treasure that is East Haddam, full of local shops, restaurants, hiking trails, and rolling farms and fields.
One thing is for sure: Once you visit the Castle you'll be looking forward to your return.
